基本理念
現在、脳科学研究が急速に進展しており、その成果を医療に応用するのみならず、広く社会に実装していく段階を迎えています。その過程では、さまざまな倫理的・法的・社会的課題（Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues: ELSI）が生じており、今後も新たな問題が生じると予想されています。私たちは、社会が直面するそうした萌芽的課題について、倫理学の専門家にとどまらず、さまざまな分野の研究者や市民の方々とともに考えていくための知的ネットワークの構築を目指します。このウェブサイトが、研究者や関係者の情報交換、研究活動や成果の告知・発表・保管に役立つのみならず、市民の方々との双方向型対話の場となることを願っています。
Mission of the Neuro-ELSI Website
Research in brain science (neuroscience) is advancing rapidly today, and we are entering a stage where the results are not only applied to medical treatment but also widely implemented in society. We have seen various ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) to arise and expect new problems to emerge in the process.
We aim to build an intellectual network to discuss these budding issues and problems facing society, not only with ethics specialists but also with researchers in other fields and citizens in general. We hope this website will serve as a forum for researchers and others to exchange information and ideas, to announce, present, and archive research activities and results, and to engage in interactive dialogue with the public.
